Co-Founder & Host
"My family at Oortsog and our team at Hunu are aiming to curate meaningful and sustainable travel that truly connects our heritage with our guests. We hope your time with us is worthwhile and full of adventures."
Co-Founder & Experience Lead
Our team is deeply rooted in nomadic culture where most of our members grew up as nomadic herders and exprienced the changing climate change and the adversities facing our lifestyle. Therefore, we founded Hunu Climate Tech with the mission to develop technologies to help herders adapt to the climate change and help them continue their nomadic culture for the future generations. With the high cost of developing technologies, our tours are a way to support our long term mission.
At Hunu Experience, our mission is to curate meaningful experiences for the guests while supporting the local community through direct employment and development of technologies to empower them and help preserve our precious nomadic culture.
We hope your experience with us will be meaningful and full of adventures.
In 2023 winter, 8 million livestock died throughout the country leaving thousand of herder without livelihood
Over 77% of the Mongolian land is affected by desertification which affects the productivity of herding.
During 1995-2023 approximately 130,000 herder families left their nomadic life and moved to the city.
By combining traditional knowledge with technology, we aim to support herders in protecting their animals, preserving their way of life, and strengthening their ability to respond to environmental challenges.
