Oortsog Elgen is a nomadic tourist camp located 178 km south of Ulaanbaatar, where you can experience nomadic culture. Guests can stay in our traditional yurts, cabins and houses and enjoy traditional Mongolian dishes at our yurt restaurant, made with fresh ingredients sourced directly from our land.

"I enjoyed my stay at Oortsog. I visited with a group and we participated in horseback riding, archery, archery on horseback, shooting range, karaoke, and a bon fire with s’mores and fireworks. My favorite was archery on horseback which was surprisingly easier than standard archery. The instructor was very helpful and had the most adorable kitten.
Also, I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff. It is a family-owned and operated business, so you could sense the warmth and home-like atmosphere. The food was first rate. We had buuz (Mongolian soup dumplings), urem and fresh preserves on bread, beef soup, ice cream, buuv (holiday bread usually stacked in a small tower), aarts (fermented dairy snack), bantan, an endless supply of airag, and even a traditional roast prepared on hot stones."
